In short
A transfer to BER uses a fixed price. The quoted price can depend on route and pickup location, vehicle class, number of passengers, luggage, and also on date, time and availability. The key point: the total shown before booking is then fixed for the booked route and does not rise afterwards through traffic or a meter.
What determines the price
Several factors combine: distance and pickup location (Berlin city, Potsdam or the Brandenburg surroundings), vehicle class, number of passengers and luggage. Passengers and luggage set the class; the rest is already included in the fixed price.
Distance and pickup location
The further the pickup location is from BER, the higher the price. Inner-city addresses are usually cheaper than rides from the surrounding area.
Vehicle class, passengers and luggage
The vehicle classes from Micro and Economy through Comfort and Business to Minivan and Minibus differ in price. Which class you need follows from passengers and luggage. See Which vehicle to BER? for guidance.
Extra stops and child seats
Additional pickup addresses or stops can affect the price; see Multiple pickup addresses. State child seats when booking so they are planned for.
Short-notice booking
With a very short-notice booking the choice of vehicle classes may be smaller. Booking early gives more flexibility. See Booking a BER transfer at short notice.
The fixed-price principle
The total shown before booking is then fixed for the booked route and does not change through traffic or detours. The quoted price itself can vary by date, time and availability. An included waiting time from the scheduled arrival time is common; the exact duration is in the confirmation.
Compared with several taxis
For groups, one fixed-price vehicle can be cheaper than several separate metered taxis. If you travel as four or more, compare both. On the principle see Fixed price instead of a meter.
Limits of general price statements
A flat price cannot be stated responsibly because it depends on route, vehicle and luggage. Only the total shown in the booking form for your specific ride is binding. We deliberately avoid teaser prices.
Frequently asked questions
Is the fixed price really fixed? Yes. Once booked, the confirmed fixed price applies to the booked route; traffic or detours do not increase it.
Does a night transfer cost more? The quoted price can depend on date, time and availability. Once booked, the confirmed fixed price applies to the booked route; traffic adds no meter surcharge.
Why is there no flat price? Because the price depends on route, vehicle and luggage. The binding total is in the booking form.
When is a larger vehicle worthwhile? From four people or with a lot of luggage, a van or minibus is often the better choice.
