An extra suitcase is rarely a problem. A bike box, a double bass, skis or a large pram, however, change the choice of vehicle completely. Anyone who does not state special luggage when booking risks a vehicle that has enough seats but too little storage space.
Always state special luggage before booking
State special luggage directly in the booking form or in the comments field. Describe the type of item, its dimensions, approximate weight, the number of normal suitcases and the number of travellers as specifically as possible. A bicycle is not just a bicycle. A road bike in a box, a folding bike, an e-bike battery or a bike box all require different amounts of space.
Bicycle to BER airport
For the flight, a bicycle should be packed in a suitable bag, box or carton. Loose wheels or unprotected components are impractical to transport and cannot be reliably planned for. With bike boxes, the length matters. For a single person with a bike box, a larger car or minivan may be necessary. With several bicycles, a minibus or a separate solution is often more sensible.
Skis, snowboard and golf bag
Skis, snowboards and golf bags are long, bulky and do not fit in every vehicle. State the length and the number. If you are travelling as a group, the normal luggage must not be forgotten.
