Terminal 2 at BER is in operation and is used mainly by low-cost airlines such as Ryanair and Wizz Air. What always counts is the terminal printed on your boarding pass. Terminal 2 has no separate vehicle drop-off: setting down and picking up take place via the Terminal 1 area, and both buildings are right next to each other.
Terminal 1 and Terminal 2: the difference
Terminal 1 is the main building for most airlines. Terminal 2 is a smaller building directly next to Terminal 1 and is currently used mainly by Ryanair and Wizz Air. Terminal 5 (the former Schönefeld airport) is permanently closed and no longer served. The current flight information and your airline's details are always decisive.
For your pickup, only the terminal on your boarding pass or airline confirmation matters. If it says Terminal 2, then Terminal 2 is correct.
Location and walking distance between T1 and T2
Terminal 1 and Terminal 2 are located right next to each other and only a few minutes apart on foot. Because Terminal 2 has no separate car access, drivers use the drop-off and waiting areas at Terminal 1, from where Terminal 2 is easy to reach on foot.
Meeting point on arrival
After landing, follow the signs to baggage reclaim and the arrivals level. The meeting point with your driver is stated in your booking confirmation. Drop-off for departure
On the way to the airport, the driver drops you at the Terminal 1 forecourt. From there you go into Terminal 1 or walk a few minutes to Terminal 2, depending on your boarding pass. Include this short walk in your time buffer.
Give the correct terminal when booking
When booking your transfer, provide the flight number and, if known, the terminal. The flight number allows the flight to be tracked; the terminal helps the driver choose the waiting area. If unsure, the flight number is enough and the provider handles the rest.
Short-notice terminal change
A terminal change at BER is rare but possible. As both terminals are side by side and pickup runs through the Terminal 1 area anyway, little changes in practice. Inform the provider as soon as you learn of a change.
