An extra suitcase is rarely a problem. A bike box, a double bass, skis or a large pram, however, change the choice of vehicle completely. Anyone who does not state special luggage when booking risks a vehicle that has enough seats but too little storage space.

Describe the type of item, its dimensions, approximate weight, the number of normal suitcases and the number of travellers as specifically as possible. A bicycle is not just a bicycle. A road bike in a box, a folding bike, an e-bike battery or a bike box all require different amounts of space.
Bicycle to BER airport
For the flight, a bicycle should be packed in a suitable bag, box or carton. Loose wheels or unprotected components are impractical to transport and cannot be reliably planned for. With bike boxes, the length matters. For a single person with a bike box, a larger car or minivan may be necessary. With several bicycles, a minibus or a separate solution is often more sensible.
Skis, snowboard and golf bag
Skis, snowboards and golf bags are long, bulky and do not fit in every vehicle. State the length and the number. If you are travelling as a group, the normal luggage must not be forgotten.
A vehicle with seven seats is not automatically suitable for seven travellers plus skis. Often less seating capacity with more storage space is the better choice.
Pram and family
A foldable pram is usually easier to plan for than a large combination pram. State the model, the folded dimensions and any additional luggage. With a baby carrier, child seat or booster seat, these spaces must also be taken into account in the vehicle.
For families: do not book the smallest suitable vehicle. A little extra storage space prevents stress before departure.
Plan for musical instruments safely
Guitars, cellos, double basses and other delicate instruments need protection and enough space. Small instruments in a hard case can usually be treated like normal luggage. For larger instruments, the dimensions and packaging must be clarified in advance.
An instrument does not belong between loose suitcases. Safe loading depends on the vehicle, the amount of luggage and the protective case.
Can I take a bicycle in the transfer? Yes, if the bicycle type, packaging and dimensions are stated when booking and a suitable vehicle is available.
